This policy explains what personal information DPC Digitals collects when you visit dpcdigitals.com, buy or download a product, create an account, bring over your Etsy purchases, join the newsletter or contact us. It also explains why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have.
The Short Version
- We collect what we need to deliver your downloads, run your account, handle taxes, keep the shop secure and answer your questions.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
- You only get the newsletter if you sign up for it, and analytics cookies are only used if you say yes.
- You can ask to see, download, correct or delete your information at any time.
Who We Are
DPC Digitals is a digital planner and sticker shop owned and run by Jennifer Good in Grants Pass, Oregon, United States. DPC Digitals is responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, reach us through the contact form.
Information We Collect
When You Place An Order
Your name, email address and billing address, the products you buy, order totals, taxes and the order date. With each order we also record your IP address, your browser type and the country your IP address points to. We use these to help prevent fraud and, for tax purposes, as evidence of where the sale took place.
Payments are handled by our payment processor, Square. You enter your card details directly with Square; we never see or store your full card number. We receive only the payment result, the card type and the last four digits.
When You Create An Account
Your name, email address and password (stored in scrambled form, never readable). Your account holds your orders, your downloads in My Library and your wishlist.
When You Bring Over Your Etsy Purchases
Before this shop opened, DPC Digitals sold on Etsy. So past customers can add their Etsy purchases to My Library, we imported our own Etsy sales records for orders placed from 2020 to 2026. For each order we keep only the Etsy order number, order date, the items bought, the order total, the buyer’s Etsy username and display name, and a one-way scrambled copy of the last name, which can only be used to check a match. We did not import email addresses, shipping addresses or payment details.
These records are used for one purpose: to match a claim you start on the Your Etsy Purchases page. They are never used to contact you or for marketing, they are not added to the newsletter and they are not shared with anyone. When you claim, we add the matching orders to your account and record the attempt (date, account, IP address and result) so we can stop people from guessing order numbers.
You can ask us to delete your Etsy records at any time, even if you never create an account.
Wishlist
If you are signed in, your wishlist is saved to your account. If you are not signed in, it is saved only in your own browser until you sign in.
When You Join The Newsletter
Your email address and, if you share it, your first name. The newsletter is sent through Mailchimp, which tells us whether emails are delivered, opened and clicked. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
When You Contact Us
Your name, email address and whatever you include in your message, such as your order number, device and app.
When You Browse The Site
Like most websites, our server records basic technical information for each visit: IP address, pages requested, date and time, and browser type. We use it to keep the site running and secure. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how you use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and how you found us) so we can see which pages are popular. To block bots on checkout, sign in, account creation and the Etsy purchases page, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser and IP address to confirm you are a person.
Why We Use It
Privacy laws such as the GDPR ask us to explain the reason (“legal basis”) for each use:
- To deliver your order, downloads and account: needed to provide what you bought (contract).
- To calculate, collect and report sales tax and VAT, and keep accounting records: required by law (legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud, card testing and abuse, and keep the site secure: our legitimate interest in protecting the shop and our customers.
- To match and add your Etsy purchases: our legitimate interest in giving past customers access to what they bought, and your request when you start a claim.
- To send the newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
- To understand how the site is used (Google Analytics): your consent through the cookie banner, which you can change at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page.
- To answer your questions and help with downloads: your request and our legitimate interest in supporting customers.
Who We Share It With
We share only what each service needs to do its job for us:
- Square, to take payments.
- DigitalOcean, which hosts the website and its data in the United States.
- Cloudflare, which delivers the website, protects it from attacks and runs the Turnstile bot check.
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), which sends order, account and contact form emails.
- Google Workspace, which hosts our email inbox.
- Mailchimp, which sends the newsletter.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Our accountant or tax advisers, and authorities when the law requires it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Information From Outside The United States
DPC Digitals is based in the United States, and our website and service providers store information in the United States. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your information is transferred to the United States. We use providers that protect transfers with recognized safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
The shop uses cookies it needs to work: to keep items in your cart, keep you signed in, remember your checkout session, run the Cloudflare security check and remember your cookie choice. These are always on.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are used only if you choose Accept All in the cookie banner. If you choose Necessary Only, Google Analytics is never loaded. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page. We do not use advertising cookies, and our fonts are served from our own website.
How Long We Keep It
- Orders: for as long as you have an account, because your orders are what keep your purchases in My Library, and at least 7 years for tax and accounting.
- Your account: until you ask us to close it. Order records are then kept, without account access, for the 7-year tax period.
- Etsy purchase records: claimed records become orders in your account. Records nobody has claimed are deleted by December 31, 2027, or sooner if you ask.
- Etsy claim attempts: 90 days.
- Contact form messages and applications (such as Planner Squad applications): 2 years.
- Google Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
- Cookie choices: an anonymous record of each choice made in the cookie banner (a random ID, the choice and the date, with no IP address), kept 2 years so we can show consent was given.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: about 2 weeks. Website backups are kept for up to 3 months and are then deleted.
Your Rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and send you a copy
- correct it
- delete it (we may need to keep order records for the 7-year tax period)
- stop using it for the newsletter, or object to or limit other uses
- close your account
To make a request, contact us through the contact form. We will confirm the request comes from you (usually by replying to the email address on your account or order) and answer within one month. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom and are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (under 16 in the European Union and the United Kingdom). If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection everywhere, payments are handled by Square, passwords are stored scrambled and access to customer information is limited to us. No method of storing information online is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always posted on this page with its update date.
